As the son of a boat and mining accommodation builder from the Gold Coast, Australia I’m fascinated by the notion of creation, which has inspired me to analyze the stories of how great products, people and businesses reached their success.

After finishing high school at The Southport School with no clear direction a Diploma of Graphic Design & Advertising seemed a simple way to accommodate my other lifestyle of rugby, surfing and Irish pubs. This 18 month diploma allowed me to develop my creative talents and learn design skills to conceptualize that creativity.

Upon entering the business world shortly after that I was able to cut my teeth in the travel industry with I.C.E Enterprises Asia Pacific starting as a graphic designer working on national and international advertisements I first discover the mystery every marketer is trying to solve – ‘What Connects businesses with people?’

After this was realised I threw myself into ever piece of marketing material I could find at work and anywhere else, which resulted in my promotion to Publications & Online Marketing Coordinator and the beginning of my Bachelor of Business (major in Marketing) degree at Griffith University.

At this new role with I.C.E Enterprises I was able to develop relationships and work with some exceptional business and advertising professionals to build our affiliate travel brands with companies such as Virgin Blue, RCI, Visa Asia-Pacific (Go Visa campaign), Ticketmaster and Singapore Airlines. From this experience over three years I was able to build my marketing knowledge on how to generate sales results and engage audiences from targeted advertising campaigns. A key lesson I gained from this was Advertising is base on one thing – To make people feel something. (and if that is happiness, they they will remember and act)

As I was working in the professional world I recognised having a strong education was what is needed to make sure your ideas are given the merit needed for them to succeed, therefore I moved to America on university exchange to attend Ithaca College in New York to broaden my horizons and finish my Business degree. Plus it gave me an excuse to also travel across America, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico the UK and Europe.

Through seeing and learning how marketing is used throughout the world I decided to apply these skill in the form of consulting businesses in new marketing techniques and systems. While also utilising my design skill for advertising, websites, emails, print media, photography and video production. Recently i have built a highly skilled and efficient design team of individuals for all types of design related projects, which has allowed me to focus on the overall marketing of the product, service or brand.

But I still make the time to get waves and knock the top off a few at the odd pub.

Currently I’m available for free briefing sessions.

So contact me for anything at all whether it be a question or a friendly hello.
