Dad & Uncle Featured in the Bulletin
This weekend saw my Father – Barry Moore and Uncle – Tony Maloney featured on the front page of the business section of the Gold Coast Bulletin. The article discussed their plans for the new Gold Coast manufacturing plant and how they are ready to employ tradesmen at Ormeau to construct demountable buildings for mine sites around Australia.
ONE of Australia’s largest mining accommodation providers has set up base on the Gold Coast, but the flood crisis could put the brakes on its immediate growth plans.
The Mac Services Group, now controlled by US-based Oil States International following a $650 million buyout last year, is still set to start production at its new Ormeau factory on February 1.
It was planning to employ up to 100 tradies from the Coast’s employment-starved construction industry, but production manager Barry Moore conceded the state’s massive flood reconstruction program could make it harder to immediately find suitable staff.
